This Best Sunday Reset is just what you need to get ready each each. Sunday doesn’t have to be a day of catching up on everything you didn’t get done during the week. Instead, think of it as a reset. Just a few simple things that make Monday morning easier, your home feel calmer, and your week feel a little more under control. This post is all about the Best Sunday Reset.

From this quick reset, you don’t need an entire Sunday afternoon or a perfectly clean house. You just need a handful of small resets that allow you to save time during the week.
This little list will make a big difference.
Table of Contents
The Best Sunday Reset
1. Start With the Bed
Of course, we’re starting here.
Make your bed, change the sheets if it’s laundry day, and take a minute to straighten up your bedroom.
There’s something about walking into a made bed on Sunday night that makes the whole week feel like a fresh start.
2. Do a 20-Minute House Reset
Don’t deep clean. Just reset.
Set a timer for 20 minutes and focus on the spaces that make the biggest difference:
- Put away things that have collected during the week.
- Clear kitchen counters.
- Straighten the living room.
- Empty the dishwasher.
- Take out the garbage.
- Do a quick bathroom tidy.
When the timer goes off, stop.
The goal isn’t a spotless house. It’s a house that feels ready for Monday.
3. Look at the Week Ahead
Take five minutes to check the family calendar.
Look for:
- School events
- Practices and games
- Appointments
- Work to-dos
- Birthdays
- Early mornings or late evening events
- Anything that requires extra preparation
Then ask yourself: “What could make this week easier if I handled it today?” Can you pay a few bills or make a few phone calls that might save time later. Do you have to order sports equipment for upcoming seasons? Try to get that stuff done before your week starts.
It could be as easy as packing a sports bag, signing a permission slip, ordering something you need, or figuring out dinner for a particularly busy night.
4. Plan a Few Easy Meals
You don’t need a seven-day gourmet meal plan.
Choose a few dinners you know your family will actually eat. My go to meals are tacos, sheet pan chicken dinner with veggies, sloppy Joe’s, and turkey sandwiches with soup.
The goal is to eliminate the “What’s for dinner?” question before the week even begins. You can get one of these notepads to write items and ideas for dinner down so that you don’t forget key ingredients.
5. Do a Laundry Reset
Sunday is a great day to get the laundry situation under control, but don’t make yourself spend the entire day folding clothes.
Wash what needs to be washed, put away what you can, and make sure everyone has what they need for Monday and Tuesday.
If your kids are old enough, let them put their laundry away.
6. Reset Your Monday Morning
This might be the most important part.
Before you go to bed Sunday night:
- Choose your outfit.
- Set out anything the kids need.
- Pack bags and lunches.
- Put shoes by the door.
- Check your alarm. I have an old school alarm clock and my phone app because I have forgotten to set my phone. That was a disaster!
You’re not trying to have a perfect morning. You’re simply making tomorrow easier.
7. Take a Little Time for Yourself
A Sunday reset shouldn’t be entirely about chores.
Read a few pages. Watch a favorite show. Take a walk. Do your nails. Sit in your bedroom for ten quiet minutes.
The point of resetting isn’t to squeeze more productivity out of your Sunday, it is to create a week that feels manageable.
Your 30-Minute Sunday Reset
If you only have half an hour, do this:
10 minutes: Kitchen + living room
5 minutes: Calendar + week ahead
5 minutes: Laundry
5 minutes: Monday preparation
5 minutes: Make your bed and reset your bedroom
That’s it.
You don’t need a complicated Sunday routine.

A Sunday Reset Isn’t About Doing More
It’s about making the beginning of the week easier.
