This easy Valentine decor dough is so easy to make and such a fun craft. The kids will love making these little hearts for Valentine’s Day. Grab some heart-shaped cookie cutters, and make this recipe in no time. This post is all about Valentine decor dough.
If you or your kids love to do crafts, then this is an easy way to create some crafty Valentine’s items. Just making the dough is fun in and of itself. The kids loved just rolling the dough out again and again and making more and more hearts.
Plus, you can use these little Valentine’s items as gifts for family members. They are especially a nice way to make something for someone who has a lot of allergies to most candy products as these are nut free. Of course, double-check and triple-check where the products were made before gifting.
Anywho, enjoy the baking and making processes. It is such a fun way to celebrate the holiday.

Valentine Decor Dough
Jump to RecipeStep 1: Preheat the Oven
First, preheat the oven to 200° for this recipe.
Step 2: Add the Flour
Start this dough with four cups of flour.
You can just use all-purpose flour for this process. I always grab the Good & Gather brand.
Step 3: Add the Salt
Then, add one cup of salt to the bowl. I normally just buy sea salt or the popular pink salt, but this recipe calls for just good old plain salt. Even though my mom said that salt use to be 8 cents, I thought that this salt was a deal and definitely the cheapest item I’ve purchased at the grocery store in years.
Step 4: Add the Water
Next, add a cup and a half of water to the bowl.
Step 5: Mix and Roll It Out
Mix the decor dough and then roll it out.
Try to keep the dough fairly thin as thicker items are going to take a lot longer to dry out and bake.
Step 6: Use Cookie Cutters
Next, use cookie cutters to create all of your decor ideas. You can make smaller hearts for necklaces and bracelets too.
Step 7: Bake that Dough
Before you bake the dough, put little holes in the pieces that you want to turn into necklaces or bracelets. You can place your cookies on a baking sheet with parchment paper, and then just use a straw to make the holes.
Bake the items for at least two hours.
Step 8: Decorate Your Dough
Then, let the pieces completely cool. You can decorate them as you like.
Use the hearts for necklaces, bracelets, table decor, or even to decorate your kids’ Valentine boxes.
We used Mondo Llama jewelry cords for the necklaces and this paint for the process. I love that it is washable. Plus, the necklace cords are flexible, so they easily go on and off.
