Raid the Fridge
You get home from work, you take out some chicken to defrost…now RAID THE FRIDGE.
Go through your refrigerator drawers and check expiration dates. Dispose of the unused leftovers, and please transfer the food that could be spared into freezer bags.
Try to do this once a week and the fridge will smell better and you won’t waste food.
You will familiarize yourself with what needs to go and what you could use before it expires.
Check out various sites to see where your leftovers can lead you. Some of these sites will allow you to type in your ingredients and then wallah – DINER!

Sanitize Your Tub
Standing around brushing your teeth in the morning or in the evening? Use your other hand to spray some bathroom cleaner onto the walls of your shower.
Floss and then use your mouthwash time to take the showerhead, and wash the cleaner down the drain within 5 minutes.
The showerhead is worth the small investment as it will aid in your cleaning process.
Now, after that quick cleaning, you’ll be happy when you step into the shower knowing that you didn’t scrub your heart out but instead just did a little multitasking during your nightly brushing.
Find a Match
Waiting for that last load of laundry to finally dry, go into your sock drawer for 5 minutes. You are bound to find a few extra dusting buddies.
Throw all of your socks onto the bed.
Quickly find the matches. Take the unmatched socks, stick them into a storage container or baggie and stick them under your kitchen sink. They are now your newest dusters.
When All You Need is a Spatula
Waiting for your morning brew, dig deep, muster up the energy and tackle that ridiculous container of USELESS UTENSILS.
Toss those unused items into a bag to donate to a local charity or to a soon to be a college student who will need kitchen items.
Once you finally rid yourself of the vast amount of ladles, you will feel at peace.
You could even slim down your item list and organize your utensils by purchasing this.
Sometimes the process allows you to realize that you only need to keep the items you use.
Hold Up Mail a Minute
During a phone call, you may be waiting on hold for yet another moment. Take that time to look over your mail pile.
With 5 minutes, this task will be done and you will able to toss any unnecessary items.
Make two piles – one to shred for recycling and one for keeps. If it really makes you nervous to toss something out, just take a photo of it.
You could save these photos in a file folder on your phone or just email them to yourself. Label the emails under a category or tag of your choice.
Furthermore, I do understand that throwing papers away does make some people extra nervous. So for files, you just know that you may not want to part with use this.
Also, be sure to label the folders, and then as mail or receipts come in during the week. Try to take the time to put each piece in its slot.
