Target work pants are quite the steal. Not only are these pants budget-friendly, but they are super comfortable too. Who doesn’t love to be comfortable at work all day? From zoom calls in leggings to teaching all day again, I needed to find some pants that were comfortable for work. Knowing that I didn’t want to spend a ton of money, I went to Target to see what they had in store. This post is all about Target work pants.
Finding a pair of work pants has really turned into a pain since The Limited closed their stores in 2017. It was practically the only store I would purchase clothes, especially dress clothes. They had amazing deals, and the styles were always chic and classic. They had the staples you needed to create beautiful outfits. To be honest, I still wear a lot of the clothes I purchased there.
Nonetheless, I have needed pants for a while. There have been a few pairs that have worked from the Banana Republic and J. Crew Factory, but I still haven’t been that pleased with the work pant options out there.
Since I spent almost an entire school year working in front of a screen, I truly needed work pants to go back to in-person learning full-time this year. I couldn’t neglect the wardrobe dilemma any longer. I had to face it, and I had to shop. Oh, quite the problem: forced shopping!
Since no one really needs to push me into a store, I easily went to Target in search of pants that I could wear to work that I could stand for over ten minutes. I needed pants that were well made and had pockets. Pockets are just a necessity.
Confidently, I can say I found a few pairs that really work well.

For just $27.99, these high-wasted Target work pants are comfortable and flattering. They are great for those who still love the skinny pant look, but are looking for high-rise pants too. These are quite the steal. Plus, they are available in multiple colors.
I paired them with this work bag with compartments that I purchased for school this year. These pants also have real pockets in the back and the front. Be it you need to store your phone or your toddler’s leftover snack bag, you can do so easily, and get to work without a mess.
How to Care for These Target Work Pants
So these pants are machine wash and tumble dry, which is very convenient.
The other day, I had to run a few errands and then pick up my daughter from school after work. I walked into her school and felt like I was in a hot yoga studio. The first thing I thought was, well, these pants are going to have to get dry cleaned immediately.
It’s not that I hate the dry cleaners because I love the people at the cleaners. It is the hassle of having to bring them there and pick them up. It’s just one more thing to do with a constantly growing to-do list.
So by purchasing these pants, I am eliminating some of those trips to the cleaners.
High-Rise Knit Drawstring Ankle Pull-On Pants
For any price, but especially for $20, you will love these Target work pants. They are probably the most comfortable pair of dress pants I own. They are simply amazing, and they come in multiple colors and solid colors as well. Please let me know if you love these as much as I do.
You could pair these with a solid dress shirt. Pretty much any color would go well with these pants. This little ruffle shirt at Target would work well with these pants, and it is like the one I have on in the photo.
Another wonderful thing about these pants is that they have sleek usable pockets. In a few other posts, I discuss how much of a game-changer it is when pants have pockets. It just makes life easier!
High-Rise Knit Drawstring Ankle Pull-On Pants Gray
These are the same pants as above, but they are in gray instead of dark gray. They also look great with any solid color shirt. Plus, you could wear these Target wedge shoes, heels, or any bootie of your choice. The Target wedges are a versatile choice, and they are a practical heel for work too.
I’m still on the lookout for a flat that fits well. When I find the perfect pair, flats would go with these pants too. I’ll let you know when that happens.
These pants honestly are like putting on a very sophisticated style of sweatpants, but ones that you can wear to work or any dressy occasion.
I love the little drawstring too, and it eliminates the need to wear a belt. Again, another way to simplify your outfit choice and to make your life easier.
These pants remind me of a pair of pants I loved from The Limited. Yes, I know I must move on, but it is hard to forget about how wonderful that store was. Also, the fabric is soft and definitely not going to irritate your skin.
