You will not be heading to your local chocolateir for a meltway anymore. In fact, you will probably keep these simple ingredients in your pantry when you get your next chocolate peanut butter craving. This post is all about a peanut butter meltaway recipe.
With any day that passes, I think about how my love for chocolate and peanut butter grows stronger and stronger. I just love it! So, I was craving a peanut butter meltaway, and I thought, “Why not just make it?” Can you really mess up candy? Does the combo of chocolate and peanut butter ever fail?
Well after some thoughts like should it have to be refrigerated, should I make it with multiple types of sugar, how much butter could I use, would a touch of salt be necessary? With all these questions unanswered, I just started whipping this together.
Nonetheless, I loved the meltaway, but I also had a thumbs up and requests for seconds from my daughters, husband, mom, and gram. With all of those in love with the combo, I had to share it with you all.

Step 1: Add the Peanut Butter
Using your KitchenAid mixer or just a wooden spoon and a mixing bowl, start with a cup of peanut butter. Very few recipes fail that start off with peanut butter.
Step 2: Add the Brown Sugar
Then, add in a 1/4 cup of brown sugar. For this ingredient, light or dark brown sugar will work.

Step 3: Add the Powdered Sugar
Then, add a cup of powdered sugar to the bowl.
Step 4: Add the Butter
Then, melt 2 tablespoons of butter, and add the butter to the mix last. I just put the butter in the microwave for about thirty seconds. You could heat it on the stove in a pan as well.

Step 5: Mix
Then, turn the mixer on to complete the middle of your peanut butter meltaway. An immersion blender would work as well. Even though, you could mix this yourself, it is hard to mix peanut butter very well.
Step 6: Form the Meltaway
Then, form the meltaway into a ball/sphere shape. Yes, you are going to have to get a little bit messy because there is just no way around that part. Unless of course you have a mold. Unfortantely, I do not have a mold.

Step 7: Refrigerate
Then, refrigerate it for at least 3 hours. This is so that it keeps it shapes before you add the chocolate candy coating. It isn’t easy making it look perfect. Don’t stress over it. No one is going to complain once they taste it.
Step 8: Cover Meltaway in Chocolate
Once you take it of the fridge, use this chocolate candy coating to roll the meltaway in chocolate. You could also just melt baking chips and use that for a coating as well.
I have used this Good & Gather chocolate candy coating several times, and I love it. I even take a little extra and spoon it over the meltaway. Why not add more chocolate?
