Jump to RecipeStep 1: Preheat the Oven
Before you mix the ingredients, preheat the oven to 450°.
Step 2: Slice the Squash
Then, slice 2 medium-sized zucchinis. Try to keep the slices similar in size so that they roast evenly.
Step 3: Spray the Butter
Place the slices onto a cookie sheet covered in parchment paper.
Then, use the super convenient I can’t believe it’s not Butter Spray. Spray all the slices evenly. I love this spray for corn on the cob too.
Step 4: Apply the Old Bay
Then, sprinkle on the Old Bay, and then brush it onto the slices. We love Old Bay, so I put a lot on each slice. It makes it much spicer, so if you don’t like a lot of spice, use the seasoning sparingly.
By the way, have you ever wondered how Old Bay came to be? Old Bay, a blend of 18 spices, was invented by German refugee Gustav Brunn who came to Maryland in 1939. The spice was named after a ship line of the Chesapeake Bay and quickly grew to be very popular later during the later 20th century.
Step 5: Roast Those Slices
Lastly, pop those slices in the oven for about 15 minutes. They are just fabulous. Use them as a side or add them to your salad for an Old Bay kick.
