When running around in search of items to disguise a turkey for my daughter’s recent Thanksgiving project, we stopped at the Dollar Tree. We made her turkey look like Elsa. Anywho, it is still amazing that items are really a dollar there, and it is hard to pass those deals up. Plus, they just seem to have it all. Of course, while we were there, I couldn’t help but to collect items to make a Christmas centerpiece and a few other holiday trinkets.
As my daughters helped with the vision, we managed to leave with everything that we needed to make a pretty centerpiece. We had several ideas, but we stuck to a simple style that will work for all types of holiday decor styles.
Hopefully, you like it as much as we do. We’d love to see your finished products too!

How To Make a Christmas Centerpiece
What is the Purpose of a Centerpiece?
After reading about the importance, you might be stressed, but with these simple steps, your centerpiece will be stunning!
Personally, I was always nervous doing any type of craft as my sister is super talented and really should have an Etsy shop. Finally, I accepted that I can create simple and easy crafts and leave the more complicated items to her talents. So far, it’s worked out!
Step 1: Gather The Materials
For under fifteen dollars, you can create this gorgeous centerpiece. It can be for your table or you could gift these centerpieces to friends and family members too.
For this DIY holiday craft, you’ll need to visit your local Dollar Tree. Of course, you may just have these items in your home too. Either way, you’ll need 3 large vases, a charger, 3 mini wreaths, 3 containers of bath salts, 3 candles, and a glue gun.
The vases could be differently shaped or even different heights too. Also, the charger doesn’t have to be red. If you have a different color theme for the holidays, go ahead and get a different color charger. Another idea would be to use a holiday dish. Also, you could use fake snow or salt as a filler. Even dried rice and beans look great too.
Let me know what changes you make to your supplies and send photos of your finished centerpiece. I can feature them on the post.

Step 2: Glue Wreath to Vase
Be sure to hot glue the wreath to the vase. This way it is secure to the glass before you permanently place it on the charger.
If you decide not to get the wreaths, you could just use holiday garland as well. They have several types of garland at the stores right now. Also, you could use ball ornaments around the bottoms of the vases.
Step 3: Glue Vase to Charger
Then, glue the bottom of the vase to the charger. Repeat these steps so that all three vases are securely placed onto the charger. Don’t stress if they seem a little off-balance or not perfectly aligned. It will come together at the end.
Of course, you don’t have to glue them to the bottom of the charger, but with my two little ones running around, I have no option. I have to secure the vases so that they don’t end up all over the floor.

Step 4: Add Bath Salts to Vases
Then, add the bath salts to the vases. Depending on your vision, you could add as much salt as you prefer. I emptied the entire container into the vases as I wanted the candles to sit a little higher.
Another idea for the filler could be to use rock salt too. Of course, by the end of the holidays, you may have to use it for your walkways. Hence, this could be a dual-purpose craft.
Step 5: Add the Candles
Lastly, add a candle to each vase. You could grab these candles from Dollar Tree too. Vanilla would be a great holiday scent if you can find it there.
Also, you could place remote-operated candles in the vases to make this a safer and more convenient tablescape piece.
Dinner By Candlelight with this Christmas Centerpiece
With three candles, enjoy having evening dinners by candlelight.
Perhaps, you could have more dinner date nights at home with this type of fancy holiday decor! Save money all around by staying home and enjoying your own home lighting.
