Step 1: The Basil
You will need three cups of fresh basil. I love making this recipe at the end of the growing season, so I can enjoy a homemade pesto pasta dish.
Plus, my kids love the sauce too, which makes dinner time so much easier. You can freeze this pesto too, which is perfect for a quick go-to dinner later on in the fall or winter months.
Step 2: Add the Almonds
Then, add a half cup of almonds to the mix. I used plain almonds with no seasoning.
Step 3: The Grated Cheese
Next, add a half cup of grated parmesan cheese. You could also use parmesan romano too.
Step 4: Garlic Powder
Next, add a teaspoon of garlic powder. You could also use minced garlic too.
Step 5: Salt
Then, add one teaspoon of sea salt, but regular salt will work too.
Step 6: Pepper
Then, add a half teaspoon of pepper for taste.
Step 7: Lemon Juice
Then, add a teaspoon of lemon juice. You can also use lime juice for this ingredient as well.
Step 8: Olive Oil
Then, add a half cup of olive oil.
