Easy Salted Caramel Fudge
Step 1: Prep the Dish
To make sure that your fudge comes out just right, put parchment paper into an 8×8 baking dish. It ensures that the fudge will easily be able to come right out of the container.
I absolutely hate when something that I make gets stuck in a dish, and with this paper, that doesn’t happen.
Step 2: Start with the Butter
Once you have your dish prepared, you can add one stick of butter to a medium-sized pot. You can slice up the stick of butter to make it easier to melt. Put it over medium to low heat.
I used salted butter, but you can use unsalted as well. Personally, I just always buy salted butter, so that is the only thing I ever use in all my recipes.

Step 3: Add the Milk
Then add in a can of sweetened condensed milk. The can is fourteen ounces. Be sure that you grab the right type of milk because once I tried to make this recipe with evaporated milk and it was more like a syrup than a fudge.
Therefore, if you use another type of milk to make fudge, you won’t end up with the same consistency at all. There just isn’t enough sugar in the other options.
Step 4: Add the Brown Sugar
Then, add a cup of brown sugar to the mix. I used light brown sugar, but really dark would work just as well. Don’t purchase one over the other if you have some brown sugar on hand already.

Step 5: The Corn Syrup
Then, add two tablespoons of corn syrup into the pot. For this recipe, I used two tablespoons of Karo light corn syrup.
Before you make the recipe, make sure that you have corn syrup because this fudge just doesn’t turn out the same with any substitutes.
Step 6: Simmer the Mixture
Within 8-10 minutes, this mixture should simmer perfectly. Be sure to stir this mix consistently.
If you want to make sure that your fudge reaches the perfect temperature, just stick a thermometer in to double-check.

Step 7: Add the Baking Chips
Then, once you mixed the ingredients at the right temperature, add a cup of white baking chips to the pot.
Turn off the burner before you add the baking chips. Next, add in one cup of white baking chips. Continue to stir the chips until they are all melted.
Step 8: Pour into Dish
Then, pour the sweet mixture for salted caramel fudge right into the baking dish.
Be sure to even out the dish as much as possible. I know that this is a little harder with the parchment paper.
Step 9: Salt & Refrigerate the Fudge
Next, sprinkle some sea salt on top of the fresh fudge recipe.
I don’t know about you, but I love the combination of salt and caramels. It is the perfect salty, sweet combo.
Then you can refrigerate the fudge for at least four hours to ensure that it forms just right.
