Easy Pumpkin Lava Lamps
Step 1: Add the Oil
First, add vegetable or canola oil to a container. You will want to fill it with three quarters oil so that you can top it off with water.
I used these containers from Amazon. They are plastic, which is ideal if kids will be completing this craft.
Step 2: Add the Water
Then, fill the rest of the container with water.
Step 3: Add the Food Coloring
Next, add two drops of red and two drops of yellow food coloring to the container.
Step 4: The Alka-Seltzer
Then, once you have everything in the container, add one Alka-Seltzer tablet. I used these Up & Up tablets from Target, that are half the price.
Step 5: Shake It Up, Decorate, & Enjoy
Now you can put the lid on it, shake it up, and decorate your container.
You can decorate the container with a Sharpie Marker. You could also put Halloween stickers on the container too.
