In my previous post about an Oreo bark recipe, I made mention that my family didn’t like the taste of peppermint bark. Hence, I stopped putting crushed candy canes in the bark, but it didn’t stop me from spraying my entire home with peppermint.
Perhaps this is more of a peppermint obsession, but there really are so many benefits of peppermint essential oil. Plus, I just love a cleaning spray that smells fabulous too.
This cleaning spray really does disinfect, and it smells so good. You’ll just loving using this homemade cleaner during the winter months when your home is decorated for the season. It just ties everything together. You can even throw this little DIY cleaning product into your stocking stuffer pile too. For me, I’d love to be gifted cleaning products. 🙂

DIY Peppermint Cleaning Spray
How Do You Make Peppermint Cleaning Spray?
Step 1: Gather Products
First, you will just need to gather your items for this cleaning spray.
You’ll need a spray bottle, a liquid measuring cup, rubbing alcohol, water, and peppermint essential oil.
Step 2: Add the Water
Then start creating this spray by pouring eight ounces of water into the spray bottle.
I just used tap water for this cleaner, but you could use filtered water as well.

Step 3: Add the Rubbing Alcohol
Then, add in eight ounces of rubbing alcohol.
Now doesn’t that just make you feel good knowing that this solution really does kill those pesky germs?
Step 4: Add the Peppermint Essential Oil
Then, add twenty drops of the peppermint essential oil to finish off the DIY cleaning product. If you are off by one or two, that’s okay.
Can Peppermint Oil Be Used for Cleaning?
You may think well peppermint oil might smell great, but does it actually clean surfaces and kill germs? Well according to serveral scientific studies, it really does kill germs and disinfect surface areas. Not only is this product going to make your home smell fabulous, but it really will make it cleaner too.

Step 5: Shake It Up & Spray
Then, secure the lid, and just shake the bottle up. Once the product is mixed, you can start cleaning as you like.
For this cleaning spray, I just put a little bit of red ribbon on it as a reminder that this is the peppermint cleaning spray. Of course, once you spritz it, you’ll definitely know by the smell too.
