This Crockpot salted caramel hot chocolate is quite the cold-weather treat. If you are looking for a go-to warm drink, this is going to be a great choice. I absolutely love caramel, so this caramel hot chocolate is such a delicious combo. With just a few simple ingredients, you can easily make this for your next gathering or just for yourself. This post is all about Crockpot salted caramel hot chocolate.
While out doing some holiday shopping with my mom and sister, we stopped at Williams-Sonoma to check out their newest items on display. Their beautiful tins of hot chocolate were out, and I just got this instant craving for this simple hot chocolate recipe. I had to go home that day and start whipping up these ingredients. Thank goodness Target is close, and I stopped there to grab all the ingredients.
Not to say Williams-Sonoma’s hot chocolate isn’t great, but this cup of caramel heaven is superb. I hope you feel the same way. Don’t forget to top it with whipped cream and caramel syrup, too.

Step 1: The Heavy Whipping Cream
Start this recipe with two cups of heavy whipping cream. I just love the Good & Gather brand at Target, so if they have products I need available, I grab this brand first.
Step 2: Add The Milk
Then add six cups of 2% milk to the Crockpot. You can use skim or whole milk as well. Any milk option will taste just as delicious.
Step 3: Then The Caramel
Add in a half cup of your favorite caramel syrup. My favorite is definitely this Smucker’s Caramel Sundae Syrup.
Step 4: Add The Chocolate
Then add two cups of milk chocolate chips to the mix. These chips will melt as the hot chocolate warms up. They taste so good!

Step 5: Add Sea Salt
Then, add in a teaspoon of sea salt.
Step 6: The Vanilla
Then, add in a teaspoon of vanilla. If you don’t have vanilla on hand, that’s okay too. I just like a little vanilla in this recipe, but it isn’t necessary.
Step 7: Mix & Heat on Low
Finally, mix all the ingredients together, and heat the mix for at least two hours on low before serving. Be sure to top it off with whipped cream and caramel syrup for a real winter treat.
Recently, I purchased this Crockpot, which is perfect for small recipes like these.
