Have you enjoyed a few chocolate snack pack puddings in your life? Do you like Cool Whip? Are Ritz crackers a staple in your pantry? Do you find yourself eating a few stacks at a time? Well, if you answered yes to any of these questions, then this recipe is just for you. It includes all of these delicious ingredients. To be exact, there are six ingredients for this quick and easy recipe. The seventh ingredient is just optional, but necessary in my house.
You can make this in no time, and it is so delicious. My mother actually gave me the idea to put this recipe into action. She was craving a Ritz cracker crust, and this seemed to be a good combo. You could really use the pie crust recipe with any filling you want. It is so easy to make, and you more than likely have all of these ingredients on hand.
As for the chocolate pie filling, it is so delicious. My daughter enjoyed making this pie with me, and eating all of the left over filling on the mixer. Who wouldn’t?

Ritz Cracker Pie Crust Steps
You can start with the pie crust first, and then while that is baking, you can make the pie filling. This way you are multitasking and this recipe will be in the fridge in no time.
Step 1: Preheat the Oven to 350
Preheat the oven to 350° for this recipe.
Step 2: Melt the Butter
Then, melt 1/3 cup of butter for about 35 seconds. The stick of butter should be labeled for easy measuring for a 1/3 cup.

Step 3: Add the Sugar
Using a blender, food processor, or immersion blender, add 1/4 cup of sugar. I just used my Ninja for this part of the recipe. It is super easy to use, and it can go in the dishwasher too.
Step 4: Add the Butter
Then, add in the 1/3 cup of melted butter. Oh, melted butter, you make everything taste so much better!

Step 5: Add the Ritz Crackers
Then, add in about 35 Ritz crackers. This is about a cup and half of Ritz cracker crumbs. My helper was eating the crackers so I might have only had 34. I kept having to open more packs. 🙂
Step 6: Mix in Blender
Then, mix it all up in the blender. You might have to use a spatula and guide this process along, but it is still easier than doing it by hand.
So go on, blend on. You want a pretty smooth consistency.

Step 7: Spray Pie Dish
Then, spray the pie dish with Pam.
I love this pie dish. I have used it for a few other recipes. You can freeze it, refrigerate it, and bake with it. Plus, it is dishwasher safe too. I used it in this pumpkin pie recipe too.
Step 8: Prepare the Crust
Then, dump the mix into the dish, and using your hands just form the pie crust around the plate.

Step 9: Bake the Crust
Then, bake the pie crust for ten minutes. Of course, keep an eye on it during the process.
Chocolate Pie Filling Steps
For the pie filling, you can use your KitchenAid mixer. It will evenly distribute these ingredients.

Step 1: Add the Milk
Start with two cups of milk. I used 2% milk, but any milk of your choice will work.
Step 2: Add the Pudding
Then, add in two packets of instant chocolate pudding. The packets are the 3.9oz size like the one in the photo below.

Step 3: Add the Cool Whip
Then, add in 8 ounces of Cool Whip. If you don’t top the pie in the end, you will only need to get an 8oz Cool Whip, but if I were you, go big and get the 16oz. I even used the extra creamy version for this chocolate pie filling. It is just so good!
Step 4: Mix
Mix all the ingredients together. Again, this process is so much easier to do in the KitchenAid.
This pie filling looks similar to this other delicious chocolate peanut butter pie.
Finishing Touches for the Chocolate Ritz Cracker Pie
Add Filling to Pie
Once your pie crust is completely cooled, add the chocolate pie filling. Evenly distribute the filling using a spatula. It is super easy to spread this chocolate pudding filling.
Add the Whipped Cream
Then, add another 8 ounces of Cool Whip to the top of the pie. You don’t have to do this, but why not? I love Cool Whip, so this layer is a must!
Top with Chocolate Syrup & Refrigerate
This may be too much chocolate for you, but I love the pie topped with some delicious Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup! You could even do caramel syrup too.
Then, refrigerate the pie for at least two hours. This way the filling is the perfect consistency.
