Step 1: Spray the Pan
First, start off by spraying a pot with cooking spray over medium heat. The cooking spray helps keep the chocolate from burning. Even though, technically I am not supposed to use cooking spray in these new pots and pans, I refuse to burn chocolate. I love it too much! 🙂
Step 2: Melt the Butter
Then, add two tablespoons of butter to the pot, and let that melt down. You can use a little more or less, but this keeps the consistency perfect with the marshmallows.
Step 3: Add the Chocolate Chips
Next, add two bags of semisweet chocolate chips. This is the same as four cups of baking chips. You can use milk chocolate chips too. You could also just combine the two different types. Either way, the recipe will turn out just right.

Step 4: Mix
Then, be sure to stir the chocolate and butter together so that it doesn’t burn.
Step 5: Add the Peanut Butter
Then, add in a half cup of peanut butter to the mix.
Step 6: Mix
Then, stir that in with the other ingredients.

Step 7: Add the Marshmallows
Next, add in a 16 ounce bag of mini marshmallows. The smaller marshmallows mix the best. You could use colored marshmallows too.
Step 8: Mix
Then, mix the marshmallows into the chocolate and peanut butter. At first you might think that this is too many marshmallows, but trust me, it will work. Just keep stirring it together.
Step 9: Pour into Dish
Once all of the marshmallows are covered in the peanut butter and chocolate, you are ready to transition this mix into the baking dish.
Then, using a spatula, pour the combination into a 9×13 baking dish. Be sure to use parchment paper to ensure that the marshmallow bars come right out once you cut them.
Step 10: Add Sprinkles (Optional) & Refrigerate
Depending if you like sprinkles, add some to the top of the mix. Since Valentine’s Day is coming up, we topped ours with red and pink sprinkles. You could do this with any color combination you prefer.
Then, put the bars in the fridge for two hours, and enjoy them.
