Birthday Party Snack Mix
For this recipe, you will want to have a large bowl with a lid for the bulk of the recipe and a smaller mixing bowl for the dry ingredients. Since my wedding shower, I have been in love, well yes, but in love with the mixing bowls by Martha Stewart too!
Step 1: The Chex Mix
Using the family size box of Chex Mix, scoop out ten cups of cereal. Place into the larger bowl.
Step 2: Combine the Powdered Sugar and Cake Mix
In a separate bowl, combine 1 cup of white cake mix and 1 cup of powdered sugar.
Step 3: The Vanilla Candy Coating
I selected the Good & Gather brand for the vanilla candy coating, but any brand would work. I just love anything by Good & Gather at Target.
Next, just place the candy coating into the microwave for two minutes. It does say to stir and then heat again for fifteen more seconds, but you really don’t need to do that. Honestly, it just melts rather quickly and is easy to stir.
Then, cover the Chex mix with this candy coating. It smells amazing!
Step 4: It’s All About The Sprinkles
For the recipe, I used six tablespoons of those yummy sprinkles that just make everything taste better! Even though I did measure the sprinkles, you could go crazy and dump the container, and no one would judge an over sprinkled snack mix.
Make sure to evenly mix all of these ingredients (the Chex, the candy coating, and the sprinkles) together. Furthermore, they will even out as you mix, and don’t be worried that some of the Chex gets smashed. That’s not a problem. The party mix isn’t going to look perfect from every angle.
Step 5: The Birthday Party Snack Mix Dry Ingredients
Add in the cake mix powdered sugar combo. Make sure you put the lid on tightly and shake that mix!
Now, your pieces aren’t going to be perfect, but that’s the beauty of a treat like this. No one is going to notice because it won’t be around for long.
