Dawn Dish Soap is one of the most powerful cleaning products on the market. In a few of my other posts, I have mentioned my love for the classic go-to soap.
Like anything that has a second edition or a second version, you wonder, can I love the next movie as much, can I keep reading the second book of the series, will I still like it? Will it be just as good? It is always questionable, and let’s be honest, there have definitely been failed attempts.
Well let me tell you, P&G did it big with Dawn Platinum Powerwash. It is the best second I have ever truly loved! I realize that may seem a bit bold, but cleaning is cleaning and a product that works is love.
Proctor and Gamble launched this product in 1972. Yes, I did some research on cleaning products. Please don’t judge me for looking that up. I just had to see when the product entered homes and changed the cleanliness of dishes and surfaces.
Of course, cleaning dishes has changed since 1972. Proctor and Gamble knew that with new techniques and tools on the market, they had to change their product or at least increase its power.
In a survey completed by P&G research, “61% of Americans prefer this ‘clean-as-you-go’ method.”
When using the original Dawn Dish Soap, this “clean as you go” process doesn’t suit the original purpose of the product. The product was intended to just fill up a sink with hot water and bubbles while dishes soaked.
According to ABC, studies show about 68% of Americans have dishwashers and therefore use Dawn primarily on their larger pots and pans.
So what does all of this dishwashing data mean? Dawn needed to come out with a product that was more powerful and more effective in a shorter period of time.
Well let me tell you that this product is not only fabulous on pots and pans, it smells amazing, and it is so concentrated and so powerful it makes cleaning other household items much easier as well.
Somehow even Platinum is an understatement when it comes to this spray’s cleaning power.
