Tip 1: Singing in the Rain
So I know this may seem strange, but you can actually use olive oil on your rainboots. Yes, olive oil!
Olive oil can only be used on rainboots though. You can also check out Hunter’s website to see their cleaning techniques if you want some reassurance.
With a little olive oil and a shoe cleaning cloth, your boots will look shiny and new!
Just use a quarter size amount and evenly rub the oil using the cleaning cloth all over your boots. It’s magical!
My mother actually told me about this cleaning tip. At first, I was skeptical, but now I do this each season.
Do not use olive oil on any of your other boots though because it could stain the leather or suede.
Tip 2: Oh Sweet Suede
For your Uggs or your favorite suede boots, use the Ugg Care Kit. The kit has everything that you will need for these types of winter boots.
In the kit you will find, protector spray, cleaner and conditioner, shoe renew spray, and two brushes to restore your boots.
Even though it can be daunting, you have to wait at least 24 hours to wear your boots. If you don’t follow this, you may do permanent damage to your oh so cozy shoes!
Tip 3: Pretty & Polished
For your leather boots, this product has over 1200 five star ratings and for good reason.
The Saphir Medaille d’Or Renovator – All-Purpose Leather Shoe Cleaner & Conditioner will have your shoes looking brand new in no time.
Use this product and the cloth below to quickly get your boots ready for the season.
Tip 4: The Sole of the Matter
So for any of your boots, you may have dirt stuck in the bottoms.
To get all of that gunk out and really clean your soles, use the Dawn soap and the scrub brush above to easily remove all of this unwanted grime.
I have never noticed this scent of Dawn on the market until a few weeks ago, but how wonderful does a citrus-scented shoe sole smell? (Say that 5 times.)
It smells amazing!

Tip 5: Boots Were Made for Walking
Okay, so some of my boots are honestly 15 years old.
When I was in college, I studied in Spain and purchased a gorgeous pair of leather boots. It was the one item that I wasn’t leaving Spain without!
In order to keep wearing these boots that are just stunning (if I do say so myself), I put these insoles in them for added comfort – well really necessary comfort.
Tip 6: So Fresh and So Clean
Perhaps your go-to boots have a little wear and tear and maybe even that gross smell too. These shoe deodorizers will eliminate the stench overnight!
Try Some On – Why Not?
Okay, so yes this is about restoring the boots you have, but who doesn’t want to just add a few more pairs into their collection of favorites?
These boots are just timeless classics, so if you add these into your closets, then next year you can use these tips too!
