Way 1: Under the Bed
It is amazing how much space really is in your home no matter how big or how small.
Under the bed storage is often neglected and this couldn’t be a better spot for your summer shoe storage. Summer shoes do not really take up that much room.
Use rolling storage bins to easily transfer your items in and out from underneath the bed. Also, if your bed is a little low to the ground, just prop it up with these bed lifts.
When I went to college, bed lifts were a huge advantage in a tiny apartment or a dorm room. Bed, Bath, and Beyond had them in stock at all times for college sales in August.
You can still use these lifts in your home. They are forever storage pieces.
They are a great help and can be used to lift the bed or even the couch for extra room for toy storage. Not to worry, toy storage is another battle, but not for now.
Let’s stay focused on the closet. Yes, the dreaded – just throw it in and never look at it – closet.
Since you were able to compact your summer shoes under your bed, you can use these options below for your boots.
Use the space under your hanging clothes to keep your boots out and save space displaying these shoe options. For other winter shoe storage ideas, see this post.
You wouldn’t believe the items you have if you just took the time each season to organize your clothing.
That time is well spent and in reality, could save you some cash in the long run. How many pairs of black leggings and gray long sleeves do you really need?
Not that it isn’t nice to get some new pieces here and there, but the point is your clothes are already fabulous – wear them too!
Way 2: Behind the Door
Use the behind the door storage organizer to simply organize your thick socks, tights, leggings, hats, and gloves.
These winter wardrobe staples are always left in drawers and go seasons without being worn because you can’t find them or you forget where they went. Not to say I know this from experience, but I do.
I have left behind beautiful items from my clothing selections because I forgot that I even owned the item or that someone gave them to me for the holidays.
Instead of your summer flip flops, this behind the door organizer can make these winter items easily accessible so that you don’t leave the house without the hat that really went perfectly with your coat and boots.
Way 3: Make More Space
To make more space for all of that wool and puffiness, use space bags to store all of your summer and spring clothing.
Depending on how much you have, you can select from the small, medium, large, and xl space bags.
To keep it simple try to group your similar items together so that they can be placed back in your closet once the temperatures start climbing back up.
Use this printable list to organize your summer clothing and check out other printables here.
Once you have organized these space bags, you can store them in any dry place. You could try the garage, basement, or the attic.
When you go to open them again, it will be like Christmas in May! Hopefully, it will be warm sooner, but that is wishful thinking for Pittsburghers!
Way 4: Floating Shelves
Now that you have made some room for your items, these floating shelves are amazing for sweater storage.
Also, this particular hanging shelving unit has side pockets for winter clutches, belts, and other accessories to complete your look.
Way 5: Get Hooked
To get even more room for your winter wardrobe slacks, use these s hooks to hang your jeans and pants.
You will be able to save so much room just by using the belt loop to keep your pants in line!
Shower hooks are also a great help too.
These hooks are rather sturdy and perfect for those thick winter scarves. You can hook them onto your hangers and display all of your favorite blanket scarves for those cold winter days.
Last but not least, do not forget your gorgeous necklaces for the season.
Select from the options above to hang your jewels. There are several options depending on your style.
Let It Snow!
Let the winter storms hit, your winter wardrobe is completely ready to go!
Look fabulous this season and share photos of all of the clothes you forgot you had!
Enjoy and stay warm friends!
